Coral Springs added roughly 35,000 residents in each of the 1970s, 80s and 90s, and the plumbing installed underneath that growth reflects whatever the codes and materials of that particular decade allowed, including polybutylene supply lines in some homes from the mid-1980s into the 90s.
Coral Springs Improvement District, North Springs Improvement District, Royal Utility Service and the city’s own water department each serve different sections of town, so pressure, hardness and shutoff locations are not standardized citywide the way they are in a single-utility city.
Coral Springs sits well west of the Intracoastal, so storm surge is not a planning factor here the way it is on the coast; the relevant seasonal risk is heavy summer rain overwhelming a yard’s drainage, not saltwater intrusion.
