Is a newer city like Doral actually a real part of your coverage area?
Yes, and being a newer city changes what a Doral job usually looks like once we’re on site. The city incorporated in January 2003, roughly 29.7 kilometers from our Davie base, and the bulk of its housing followed after that date, not before it.
That timing matters for one specific reason: it puts most Doral construction after polybutylene supply piping had already left the market, so it isn’t the concern here that it can be in an older, mid-1980s Broward subdivision. Copper and CPVC are the more likely finds behind a Doral wall.
What we do plan around is the ground itself. Doral sits on flat, low-lying terrain that drains through a network of canals tied to the C-4 and C-6 basins, and heavy rain can outpace that drainage faster than it would on higher ground a few miles away.

Doral is one of Miami-Dade’s newer cities, and its housing stock reflects that: modern supply materials are the norm, and the polybutylene risk that shows up in some 1980s-built Broward homes is largely absent here.
Much of Doral sits low and flat with limited natural drainage relief, so a sump pump and a well-maintained yard drain matter more here during a summer downpour than they might in a higher-elevation city.
Water here comes from the county system, sourced from the Biscayne Aquifer and lime-softened at the plant, but it still reaches the tap on the hard side, which is worth knowing before a water heater starts scaling early.
